Fitting Diagram & Information
Hose Size
The Hose Size refers to the size of the hose accepted by the Coupling End marked by the letter A above. Only 4 Spiral fittings are compatible with 4 Spiral hose and only 6 Spiral fittings are compatible with 6 Spiral hose. 6S and 4S fittings are not interchangable.
Fitting Style
The Fitting Style refers to the shape and, most importantly, the angle of the fitting’s Flange/Terminal end marked by the letter B above. Each of the styles; CT, CTA, CTB, CTD, CTE, CTF, and CTG have their own respective angles.
Flange/Terminal End Size
The Flange/Terminal End Size refers to the size of the connecting end marked by the letter C above. The Coupling End and the Flange/Terminal End are separate parts that have been joined together. Because the nipple, housed in the Coupling End, and the Flange/Terminal End are the same piece, the nipple’s size is determined by the Flange/Terminal End Size.
Spiral Count
The Spiral Count refers to the number Spirals, 4S or 6S, that comprise the hose the fitting is designed to attach to, marked by the letter D. Each additional Spiral adds another layer to the hose, reinforcing it with spiraled metal wire. The thickness of the hose walls are affected by a higher Spiral Count so fittings need to be made differently to accept each type of hose.
