He holds a bachelor's degree from Murray State University and a master's degree in music from the University of Kentucky. Sherman is our Inside Sales Manager. He is a key "go-to" man with vast rubber & gasket knowledge, critical thinking, and attention to detail. These same qualities also make him a competitive golfer outside of the office!

bryan2.jpg - 9664 Bytes Bryan Nunley keeps the bar raised in inside sales. Bryan attended Western Kentucky University at Bowling Green before settling back permanently with Big River where he began at age 15! Bryan's consistent dedication to customers has made him many a friend. While pretty much glued to his desk and the telephone, he always makes time for everyone. Bryan is an extremely busy dad encouraging and coaching his three children in baseball, soccer, tennis, and getting those grades kept up! Bryan and Stacy's oldest son, Jonathon, 12, plays tennis for Apollo High School in Owensboro.

rick.JPG - 4896 Bytes Rick Rice hails in from Whitesville, Kentucky. Rick is quick! With his quiet demeanor, he asks customers the right questions so that his many orders are processed and delivered correctly. Rick has been with Big River since 1981. When home, he can be found gardening and landscaping his yard. Rick also enjoys model trains, which is a fading interest where trains have almost been replaced by automobiles, planes, and personal rotary-propelled peoplecopters. Really, Rick?! Who doesn't wish for a train ride if only in our minds!

bob1.JPG - 9418 Bytes Bob Snead has moved around a lot at Big River since he began in 1980. He works inside sales where he brings extensive purchasing and shop experience along with a sincere caring attitude. Bob knows hose, fittings, tubing, gaskets, packing, belting, expansion joints, gauges, mechanical seals, o-rings, plastics, stretch wrap, safety products, swivel joints, tapes, welding blankets, and related products including rubber and gasket specialty products. Bob is now a first-time grandfather! This "Papaw" is already working on spoiling his granddaughter. He likes going to flea markets and using his "eye" to pick out collectibles and antiques.

WAYNE N.jpg - 13123 Bytes Wayne Newton has been with Big River since 1980. He is an Owensboro native stuck on Kentucky! Wayne is amazing in his ability to create innovative fabrication techniques. Nobody knows gaskets better then Wayne. Early art talent has helped him bring this significant ability to Big River. Wayne is a unique talent.

joe1.jpg - 5821 Bytes Joe Hayden is Big River's Sales Manager and has been with Big River since 1978. From day one he has shown leadership, fairness, humor, and dedication to the customers he serves. Joe is also a very organized guy. A trait he has been able to pass on to our sales staff. His conscientious work ethic is contagious. He has been a large part of Big River Rubber and Gasket's award recognition by plants as A specialty supplier. Joe and Judy have one boy in college and another boy who also honored them by becoming an Eagle Scout! Joe has been a member of the National Eagle Scout Association since 1972.

Being very customer oriented has been a way of life for Bill since his first day in 1978. He is always looking for new products that can save customers money. Bill gets the job done right. He is a very thorough person that follows up and through to make sure all details are covered. Bill served four years in the United States Air Force. He's a NASCAR buff, and an active member of his church. Bill and Cheryl have two daughters.

He has a technical background and excellent experience at Big River in both shop, inside sales and outside sales. Kevin is well suited for outside sales. He enjoys the people he meets and friends he makes in his job and says purchasing people are some of the nicest people to know. Kevin and his wife have two children they are home schooling! He says it is a challenge but worth the effort. Kevin and Sharon are smart people. They've really studied this program! A clover to them!

He has been in sales since he was born but he started at the ground floor level at Big River and worked his way to the great outdoors! He says it's open the car door, get out; open the car door, get out. But, and this is true, he is a born salesman having owned 85 cars and 12 motorcycles. He is a self proclaimed horse trader! What a guy!

In 20 year's at Big River, Darrel has gained valuable experience and knowledge in specialty rubber products, plastics, metal hose, packings, and safety products. Darrel and his family are very close. They like to do things together, and keep prayer a mainstay of their lives. But, that seems to end when Darrel takes up the challenge on a golf course! Or races his car! Hmmm. Maybe that's why he's such a competitor!

BEN A1203.jpg - 6252 Bytes Ben Nunley earned a business degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Otherwise known as the "runnin rebels!" Ben finds waterjet technology fascinating. He believes that waterjet technology is a great way to bring out individuality in artistic expression both commercially and residentially. Ben is a physical fitness person. He says he just doesn't feel right if he hasn't exercised! Ben's wife, Sarah, is a real estate agent for Century 21 Real Estate Partners. She recently passed her broker's test. Ben and Sarah have a very happy, smiley toddler.

If you saw the Reese Witherspoon movie,"Illegally Blond", you understand that finger snaps are a high accolade for someone who does a great job! Karena is truly a self-taught, computer- literate person who has dug into the manuals over recent years. She knows more than many computer people who try to straighten out these sensitive machines! Making sure documents can be electronically transferred between customers and Big River is a priority, along with making sure data moves smoothly through our IBM "e" and NT server. She has a teenage son she's very proud of!

pat1.jpg - 5808 Bytes "Snaps", too, for Pat Rumage, the oh-so-nice receptionist who keeps track of everyone! Pat also processes incoming shipments, consignment inventory, and credit card payments. Pat is extremely reliable and a joy to be around. She's a devoted grandmother to five kiddos, loves to cook (and collects cookbooks,) and read…and appreciates the sunset view over the hills from her kitchen window. Here is a woman who enjoys life! Her kids adore her lemon meringue pie! Yum! How about a recipe, Pat?

mertB.jpg - 19782 Bytes Merton Davis began Big River Rubber & Gasket Co., Inc. in 1978 in conjunction with a large group of distributors now known as "RAGCO" bounded by buyer purchasing power. He had a ten-year sales career in specialty rubber products and solid experience in southern and mid-western territories in that field. He believed the Ohio Valley market was an area that could benefit from a strong and service-oriented distributorship. He is proud of the quality control and work in process system (all the way to the customers door) he initiated. The Toledo, Ohio native holds a business degree in marketing from Bowling Green University of Ohio.
